From the Clever Stat website:Free Monitor for Google is a free Web promotion software designed for search engine specialists and webmasters. It allows you to find position of your web site in Google Top for popular keywords and get more traffic from Google. Google Monitor will query Google and show you the position of your site by your target keywords and also how well your competitors are doing. It keeps statistics for several URLs and several lists of keywords. You can add notes. A few months ago, when I first tried the Free Monitor for Google, I would have said this was a worthwhile utility. It was light weight, an easy install and did the job well. I entered my primary keywords and proceeded, then checked the online Google site to be sure I was in the placements reported and all was well. Now I would have to retract that statement. I began getting inaccurate position numbers. Seems impossible, but nonetheless, it did happen. The positions reported by the utility were not matching up with the online search. They were not off by much, but still, they did not match. The program uninstalled easily and left behind a folder under Program Files which contained a shortcut to the Clever Stat website. I checked the registry and could find no footprints there, but I am far from comfortable in the Windows Registry. I decided to reinstall the program because I did want to continue to monitor it, but received errors and have been unable to resolve them. For the little this utility accomplishes, it is not worth the trouble or the risk. In fact, if it is designed to encourage one to purchase further software from Clever Stat, it did just the opposite for me. Accurate Monitor for Search Engines is overpriced at $99 and there is no promise that I would encounter less problems.
